[SOLVED] First Post - Windows 7 Update Failure

Step 1:
WARNING! The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread only. No one else should follow these instructions, as it could damage your system.
  • Download the attachment SFCFixScript.txt and save it on your desktop.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Drag the SFCFixScript.txt file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Attach that file to your next reply.

Step 2:
Start the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again.
On completion, attach the logfile C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log to your next reply.

I'm also attaching a screen shot of the open file security warning that I get every time I open Eexplorer or Notepad. This is nothing new as it's been going on for a while. Just wanted you to be aware of it in case there is a fix.

Indeed. We fixed about 12,000 errors, still 200 to go.
