[SOLVED] First Post - Windows 7 Update Failure

Step 1:
Create a system image.

Step 2:
WARNING! The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread only. No one else should follow these instructions, as it could damage your system.
  • Download the attachment SFCFixScript.txt and save it on your desktop.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Drag the SFCFixScript.txt file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Attach that file to your next reply.

Step 3:
Start the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again.
On completion, attach the logfile C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log to your next reply.

Oops, the attachment in my previous message was incorrect so nothing was changed/fixed on your machine.
I modified the attachment in message #966. Please perform the instructions in message #966 again.
 
This time the fix worked but partially. Not sure why.

An interesting note regarding system image. Except for the last two images, every image takes about 4 hours to complete. The last two times I've started a new image it has completed in less than an hour. I've not changed how I initiate the image. It concerns me that these past to images are not complete.
 
I wouldn't concern as long as the image creation finishes successful.
