I am spitballing ideas.
1. We looked at services dependencies needed to run indexing. They are still on the system & running.
A. Is it possible that the windows searchindexing (file 8.1a) file was updated by windows update to searchindexing (8.1b) and then corrupted removed & reinstalled w/SFC or the DISM WIM to 8.1a searchindexing (8.1a) because WIM or SFC had an outdated searchindexing Is there software that I can run that checks to make sure that the operating system has all the correct files that work with each other?
I have used WSUS Autopatcher Portable Update Windows Updates Downloader (WUD) on other computers and as I recall each worked well but just installed windows updates that were missing or corrupted. I think that I may need to remove and replace files that are not working.
B. It is possible that the indexing file is sufficiently corrupted enough to show as present but it is not functioning? Possibly SFC or DISM is replacing the corrupted file with the same corrupted file?
2. Is it possible that searchindexing is not working with its system file dependencies? Possibly the dependencies are the wrong version or corrupted and not working with searchindexer?
