[SOLVED] Windows 7 32 system restore not working sfc and Sur ok

Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.
  1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on FRST.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Attach the logfile Fixlog.txt to your next reply.

Step 2:
Restart the machine.
Try system restore again and report the result.
If it fails run a scan with MTB again as in message #97

The errors with system restore seem to be gone so we could fix it partially.

FRST Registry Search
  1. Click the Start button and choose Control Panel.
  2. In the upper right corner ensure the View by: is set to Category.
  3. Select the Programs group.
  4. Click the Turn Windows features on or off link. This will bring up the Windows Features dialog.
    Note: This loads your components hive which is what we want. Please keep this dialog open while you perform the remaining steps. You can minimize it if you wish but keep it open.
    Note: Your antivirus program may report FRST incorrectly as an infection. If so, disable the real-time protection when downloading and running FRST.
  5. Right-click on the file FRST.exe and choose Run as administrator.
  6. Copy and paste Zune Bus Enumerator Driver;{e707ea47-d8e8-11eb-a788-806e6f6e6963} into the Search box and click the Search Registry button.
  7. When the scan is complete, a message will display that 'SearchReg.txt' is saved in the same folder FRST was started from. Notepad will open this file also. Close Notepad and attach the file 'SearchReg.txt' to your next reply.
  8. You may close any remaining open windows now.
 
Does system restore complete if the USB device as drive I: is disconnected ?
Does system restore complete if the Avast real-time protection is disabled ?

Perform a new FRST scan:

  1. Right-click on FRST.exe and select "Run as administrator".
    Note: Your antivirus program may report FRST incorrectly as an infection. If so, disable the real-time protection when downloading and running FRST.
  2. Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
  3. Press the Scan button.
  4. Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
  5. Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.
 
Run scan took about 40 minutes logs attached
That is no problem. It completed successfully.

Open Device Manager.
Open Storage volume shadow copy and delete the entry Generic volume shadow copy.
Try to create a restore point again and report the result.
 
Hi, the only time Storage volume shadow copy appears currently is when I try and create a restore point when it pops up about 30 seconds after hitting the create button. I uninstalled the generic volume shadow copy which appeared with an error message and both entries dissapeared.

If system restore still fails provide a screen shot of the error message when uninstalling the "generic volume shadow copy".
 
Hi,it does not show a message if I uninstall the volume shadow copy which pops up it shows code 19 error and then disappears when I uninstall it and the storage volume shadow copy also disappears . creating green line stops and if you go back to the system protection display it is all greyed out.so you must reboot before it then displays in the system protection correctly.
 
Perform a disk defragmentation on drive C: and report the result.
 
Ran defrag said disk was 2% fragmented and defragmented drive , the drive is an ssd FYI
