Retrieve Components Hive
1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
2. Please copy this file to your desktop. Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
3. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
4. The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload to a file sharing service. Examples of services to upload to are Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace and then just provide the link in your reply.
You should receive the message: The operation completed successfully.
Restart Windows to complete this operation. <---You may not get this line.
Do you want to restart the computer now (Y/N)? <---You may not get this line.
Go ahead and do so if prompted. Let me know what errors if any come up. If you do get errors, please zip/attach your CBS.log
Note: If you get an error that no packages that require processing were found, use the following command instead:
disaster... Installed 12 of 13 updates, I rebooted, took forever to shut down,
reboot started, started to install updates. Updates failed, said rolling back updates.

Add Missing Package
1. Click the Start button and type cmd.exe in the search box.
2. Right-click on the cmd that comes up and select Run as administrator.
3. Once you are at the command prompt, copy/paste the following line and hit enter. pnputil -a C:\windows\WinSxS\amd64_machine.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.24056_none_1899009dee8d03f0\machine.inf

3. Once you are at the command prompt, copy/paste the following line and hit enter. pnputil -a C:\windows\WinSxS\amd64_input.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.24145_none_7eff7eb14ff2a230\input.inf
Let me know if it says successfully installed. If it does, please attempt the updates again.
