Error 80073712: Havent been able to install most updates for almost 2 years

Please use this command:

dism /online /add-package /packagepath:C:\Windows6.1-KB2952664-v25-x64.cab\Windows6.1-KB2952664-v25-x64.cab

That's not right..

The Windows6.1-KB2952664-v25-x64.cab folder does not have Windows6.1-KB2952664-v25-x64.cab file inside

I ran the command anyway and it did tell me that it couldn't find the path specified

Hi,

It went well. Fixlog attached with the results, then the update proceeded to install.
Also, after rechecking windows update, KB2952664 disappeared from the list.

Now I have a few more items it asks me to install (updates for microsoft office products):
KB4018363
KB2589339
KB4461626
KB4462229

Let me know if I can proceed installing these (assuming they don't auto install overnight anyway)

As for the installation itself, it did NOT ask me to restart. I just got the following:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 6.1.7600.16385

Image Version: 6.1.7601.18489

  • Windows Update uninstall correctly?
  • KB2952664 listed?

Strange indeed!

Well, I uninstalled. It asked to restart my PC. I did so. After it rebooted I rechecked updates, and it is now listed again.

Greetings.

A very brief explanation. There are several versions of Windows Update KB2952664. In Post #293 the Update we were addressing was KB2952664-v20-x64, or Version 20. This is an old version that wasn't completely removed during previous Windows Updates. The remnants left behind were preventing the installation of the most current version. As it turned out we needed to delete items via the last Fixlist, install the older version (v20) so that it could be completely removed thereby hopefully giving us a clean shot at installing the KB2952664 update you now see in your Windows Update screen.

Having said all of that, please attempt to only install KB2952664. If it is unsuccessful provide a new CBS log.

Hi,

Thanks for the explanation. I never knew KB packs had versions. I just thought they any fixes would be released as a different number.

I installed it, and it was successful!

You are quite welcome.

Can you please confirm the Important Update KB numbers listed now?

I'm not sure if I installed them, or they installed overnight, but everything is now installed with the exception of the 2 problematic ones:
KB4487078
KB4486563
