them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For

KB4487078
KB4489878

Which one? Cause last couple of times you asked me to install the latter

Greetings.

The errors in the report necessitate us trying to identify exactly what is happening at the point of failure. Running Process Monitor should lead us to the specific item we need to address and then a search of the Components and Software Hives will show us exactly which registry entries need to be modified or removed. We may need to complete the below more than once.

Please do this.

===================================================

Process Monitor Trace

--------------------
  • Download (if necessary) and run Process Monitor. Leave this running while you perform the next steps.
  • Attempt to install the same update you just attempted
  • Stop Process Monitor as soon as the update fails. You can simply do this by clicking the magnifying glass on the toolbar
  • Select the File menu...Save... and save the file to your desktop. This is likely the default location. The name (unless changed) will be LogFile.PML. This is fine.
  • Zip up and attach the LogFile.PML file as well as your CBS.log
===================================================

Please run Regbak then provide the latest copies of the Components and Software Hives.
