Manually Uninstalling a Windows Update

- Click Start, type Command, right click on Command Prompt (or cmd) above and select Run as administrator
- Copy and paste the following after the Command Prompt and hit Enter
wusa /uninstall /KB:2978120
- If the update is found click Yes on the Do you want to uninstall the following Windows software update? screen
- If the update is not installed click OK
Installing Windows Update Using DISM
--------------------
- Download Windows6.1-KB2978120-x64.cab.zip and save to your C: drive, as you prefer
- Unzip the file into your C: drive
- Click Start, type Command, right click on Command Prompt (or cmd) above and select Run as administrator
- Copy and paste the following after the Command Prompt, then hit Enter
dism /online /add-package /packagepath:C:\Windows6.1-KB2978120-x64.cab
- You should receive the first message but may or may not see the next 2 messages:
The operation completed successfully.
Restart Windows to complete this operation
Do you want to restart the computer now (Y/N)? (Type Y and hit Enter if present)
Restart Windows to complete this operation

- If at any time an error message appears right click inside the command window, click Select All, then hit Enter to copy the information. Paste the information in your reply
- If the installation is unsuccessful please stop and provide a new CBS log
- If the above was successful please complete the next steps
