Problem with windows update - now boots to black screen with cursor. SFC & DISM no longer work. Can't repair.

Open an elevated commandprompt.
Copy and paste the following command in the commandprompt window, then press enter.

Code:
sc start WindDefend

Wait 5 seconds to allow the service to start.
Copy and paste the following command in the commandprompt window, then press enter.

Code:
"C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe"
Provide a screenshot of the commandprompt windows.
The last command should open the main window of Windows Defender. Does that happen or anything else ?

OpenService FAILED 1060: The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

OpenService FAILED 1060: The specified service does not exist as an installed service.
Sorry, I made a typo there.
Does Windows Defender restart automaticly if you restart the machine ?

Yes it does! I was also prompted for two windows updates related to windows defender that I've never been offered before. For whatever reason the buttons I was using (Turn On) in the previous screenshots - just did not link to anything, but once I did the cmd line to start the exe it did come up and did come back after restart.

Great. As the Windows Defender issue is solved we can look at another issue.
Try to install KB2919355 only and report the result.
If it fails attach the zipped cbs.log to your next reply.

Step 1:
Remove Update Manually
  1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt.
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, then press enter.
    wusa /uninstall /KB:2919355
  4. Wait for this command to complete.

Step 2:
Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.
  1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Attach the logfile Fixlog.txt to your next reply.
