Speedtest

Peak 32Mbps / Sustained 27Mbps. Not bad. My upload would be better, but I have to pass through a ton of wire...

Modem > 14ft Cable > Sprint Tower Broadband Booster (for cell phones - uses bandwidth) > 5ft Cable > Router > 6ft Cable > Desktop.

Beats my old setup which was modem > 50ft > Booster > 20ft > Router

P.S. I have NO idea why my IP resolves to MO. I don't live there....

I have to put up with this. I wish I could have better, it often struggles with Skype video chats!

That's about my average normally - 2.85Mb/s up. The one I posted above was exceptionally good in comparison to normal. My upload however, is the same 99.9% of the time, 0.36Mb/s no matter what device I'm on.

My time to shine :D

Don't know what's caused it to drop today, here's what I usually get:

Damn you Tom.... That's just annoyingly quick! Could you just run an impossibly, incredibly long ethernet cable all the way to Swindon please???

By the time we've got all that sorted, I might as well just download your files and post them to you

Ditto on damn!!

Wow, Tom!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comcast is moving well this morning:

DSL:

My ISP is running quite well today as well. Almost hit 80Mb/s upload:

I was stuck on 2MB/s internet for the past 8 years, so now that I've finally got something decent, I can resist flaunting it :p

I've been having 2-mbs for as long as I ca remember. Its the upload that's my issue, 0.36. I physically can't use Skydrive or dropbox etc to store anything large, it takes too long to upload.

On a good day, I can upload 500MB in about 5 minutes flat :) Have you tried Office 2013 Preview? It's got great Skydrive integration, I love it.

Tom,
I have the Tiger in my cross hairs which will slow you down a bit. Will take one paw at a time until my speedtest and yours are the same.
Just joking of course as I would be flaunting it too! I feel the need for speed.

This is what I am at today:

I hit higher at school around what tom gets but as I'm at home most the time this is what I deal with...

Still trying to convince the parental units to switch over to comcast... I need better upload, getting work down with such slow upload speeds is painful... I would be happy with 20 dl/10 up but we will see...

Back when I had comcast a few years ago they called my house at like 3 am complaining about internet activity... (had 6 xboxes hooked up playing COD4) After explaining the situation the rep throttled the connection up and I believe never turned it off? We paid for I think 20 mbps dl and I would get 80+....

I don't know if they still throttle up but wouldn't surprise me if they didnt...

Laxer... that's nothing to sneeze at. I've lived at those speeds for years. Charter is spoiling me with 30mbps, paying for 15mbps. I ain't complaining.

I'd happily switch providers with you tho.

I hate waiting for anything...

:lolg:

Things need to be instant... :shame2:

Instant? OMG, most of my page loads take 10 seconds+, with images still arriving corrupt, and web pages rarely fully load before crashing out.

I think that the speed isn't so much of a problem, but the quality. Speed is OK, varies between 1.5MB/S up and 0.3MB/s down at best, and 0.27MB/S up, 0.04MB/S down at worst.

Actual download speeds vary between 120KB/S, and 10Bytes/second (yes, bytes). Mad variation.
