Re: GUIDE: CNBJ2530.DPB and prncacla.inf Corruptions - Windows 8/8.1

Simple and elegant fix to my CNBJ2530.DPB problem. Thanks for making your repair tool available. Just sent a small contribution and a big bunch of goodwill. You're doing good work here.

After a few tries (had to run it 4+ times for some reason) fixed my issues. Brilliant work and thanks!

Re: GUIDE: CNBJ2530.DPB and prncacla.inf Corruptions - Windows 8/8.1

Hi enkelus.:smile9:
If I correctly understood, now sfcfix corrects automatically that problem (using DISM in the background?), hence you could try it.
Anyway, the dism code should work the same:
Code:
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Personally, I made a copy of that file and a batch file that copies it in the correct folder, and I use it when the problem occurs.
Another workaround I tried (and should work) was to set every users (for that file only) to not write the file.

Thanks for your hint ... I started dism and after 1 h dism has repaired the file and solved the problem ... everything is fine :smile9:

Re: GUIDE: CNBJ2530.DPB and prncacla.inf Corruptions - Windows 8/8.1

Can anyone tell me why this same corruption keeps coming back? I found it during an SFC /scannnow and used he SFCFix.exe to fix it. All went well for about a month. Then I was having issues again and ran the SFC /scannow again. It once again showed the same file as corrupted AMD/CNBJ2530.DPB. Ran the fix again and it shows it's fixed.

I have windows 8.1 (home) upgrade (got the laptop less than a year ago with Windows 8 and got the free upgrade). Ran a virus scan and malware scan. All clear.

I am far from tech savvy but I wanted to know why it came back again to avoid it in the future.

Re: GUIDE: CNBJ2530.DPB and prncacla.inf Corruptions - Windows 8/8.1

I encountered this issue during general computer maintenance.
My System File Checker failed and I researched thru many Microsoft Community forums and finally found yours with several intelligent professionals that could actually understand the cbs and dism logs.

Could you assist me as well?

I am having the same problem with DISM being unable to download version 6.3.9600.17415 of the cnbj2530.dpb file. The only difference is that my version of DISM appears to be newer, Version: 6.3.9600.17031

Re: GUIDE: CNBJ2530.DPB and prncacla.inf Corruptions - Windows 8/8.1

Ok so I ended up downloading the update named in the CBS log file, and following instructions to decompress it from another forum. I then replaced the file myself.

I decided to use wireshark to monitor what was going when DISM was running and found the link it tried to download. It turns out that the 700MB update that contained the needed file is over 5gb when decompressed, and DISM tries to download what seems to be a decompressed file of over 5gb. I am going to guess the process eventually timed out and was never able to complete the download.

Re: GUIDE: CNBJ2530.DPB and prncacla.inf Corruptions - Windows 8/8.1

I'm having the same error. I ran SFCFix.exe and it did not fix my error. sfc /scannow still fails. DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth fails as well. Attached is my CBS.log.

Hi squeezer.
What firewall/antivirus is installed in your machine?
