Windows 7 CheckSUR unavailable manifest files

Try to install the 4 Security updates for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and next Internet Explorer 11.

Thanks, I've done them. But in trying to continue with the 3 updates KB3172605, KB3179573 and KB3184143 I am going nowhere. I tried the three as a group, then rebooted and just tried the first - still 'downloading' after 1.3 hours. Here are the 15 left to do:

Thanks. After the clean boot there are the same 15 updates to be installed as before:

But I await your further instructions as to the order to do these in.

Try to install KB3172605 only.

Good morning. I tried to install KB3172605 only, letting it run overnight - no luck. The PC is still running in clean boot mode, but I note that AVG has been started behind my back, so to speak:

Could that be the problem? As soon as I disable these services they come back. Turning off AVG using its own security panel does not work either.

I tried to install KB3172605 only, letting it run overnight - no luck.
What does that mean, "no luck". It failed, got stuck ?
If an error appears, which error.

You cannot simply disable a AV service for security reasons. You may uninstall AVG and try again.

Sorry. What I meant is that 'Downloading updates' appears with the circulating bar, stating 'Downloading 1 update (0 KB total, 0$ complete)'. Normally this runs for a few minutes, or up to half an hour, without ever showing any progress beyond 0%:
1601730502809.pngThen it suddenly switches to a result, like 'The updates were successfully installed' with a green shield uptick. But in the last case the 'Downloading updates' just ran for 12 hours overnight till I cancelled it. I'll uninstall AVG and try again.

I'm now trying to install KB3172605, having uninstalled AVG, rebooted clean, and with Windows Defender off. It has been 'Downloading updates' for an hour now. How much longer should I allow it?

Step 1: Disable Automatic Updates
Go to Start - Control Panel - System and Security - Windows Update - Change settings
Select "Never check for updates".

Step 2: Install Update with DISM
  1. Download the update MSU here: https://download.microsoft.com/down...67F-C713F7821374/Windows6.1-KB3172605-x64.msu
  2. Copy the MSU file to a convenient location (such as C:\temp).
  3. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  4. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  5. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    cd C:\temp

replace C:\temp with your path if different

    expand Windows6.1-KB3172605-x64.msu -f:* C:\temp

    DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\temp\Windows6.1-KB3172605-x64

  6. You should receive the message:
    The operation completed successfully.
  7. Make sure to allow the computer to restart if prompted.

If you receive any other message:
  8. Right-click on the Command Prompt window and click Select All, this will invert all of the colours by selecting the text, now press enter. All of this text is now copied.
  9. Paste (Ctrl+V) it into your next post.
  10. Zip and attach C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

Thanks. I ran DISM as you instructed. It took 15 minutes. Here is the CMD text:

C:\Windows\System32>cd C:\temp
C:\TEMP>expand Windows6.1-KB3172605-x64.msu -f:* C:\temp
