Windows Service Pack 1: Error Code 80070490

The USB flash drive isn't recognised during the install on the other computer either.

There's an issue with that flash drive or the steps that you are taking then. Can you confirm the following steps?

1. Plug in USB drive to the computer.
2. Open up the MediaCreationTool64.exe
3. Select "Create installation media for another PC" and click Next
4. Select Language, Edition & Architecture and click Next.
5. Select USB flash drive as an option and click Next.
6. Select the detected USB drive and click Next

1. Plug in your USB drive into the computer.
2. Click Start and then click Computer.
3. You should see your C drive as well as your USB drive.
4. Right-click on the USB drive and select Format
5. Choose FAT32 (Default) from the file system drop down.
6. Click the Start button to format.

That option isn't available unfortunately. The only drop down option is NTFS (default), no other options are given.

There are 74.5GB remaining and the media creation tool says it only requires 6GB. I will try and reformat it now.

Ahhhhhh....you are trying to use an external mechanical hard drive. That won't work. You need a USB thumb drive. They are usually 32GB or less. It uses flash memory.

After loading the install from the USB flash drive, it gets to a what needs your attention screen, which just shows an empty white box below it. When clicking back it just restarts the cycle and gets back to the same screen.

1. Click your Start button and type Language
2. Click on Change Display Language that comes up.
3. Make sure that English is set in the Choose a display language (this is only temporary).
4. Click Apply.
5. Click the Install/uninstall languages... button.
6. Click Next at the first screen and then click Uninstall Display languages.

Let me know if any are listed other than English.

When searching for language under the start menu all that comes up is regions and languages. On that menu you can change the display language, but there is no option to uninstall any.
